End-of-Year Message

End-of-Year Message

December 2020

By Larry Kerr

For many of us, 2020 is a year we will soon be glad to put behind us. While the challenges have been great, I am choosing to remember the positive things at EBE and InfoStream that have made the past 12 months memorable. Our customers top the list, as you continue to drive our passion to provide exemplary automated workflow solutions for the transportation industry. Here are highlights of how you have helped us deliver best-in-industry products and services.

Rising to the challenge

When the COVID-19 pandemic consumed the world last March, you asked for solutions to keep your drivers and staff healthy and safe while maintaining successful operations. We responded by developing our electronic bill of lading (e-BOL) application that allows for touch-free signatures. Our other paperless products and services were also particularly helpful to carriers who could not use their legacy imaging solutions in work-from-home or mobile configurations. The modules benefit the enterprise including accounts payable, invoice resolution, rate contract management, driver qualification (DQ) file management, driver on-boarding, and mobile capture.

As economic conditions tightened and carriers adjusted to doing more with less because of layoffs and budget cuts, we made enhancements to our artificial intelligence (AI) solution, Navigator. The enterprise application automates repetitive tasks so carrier staff can focus on more strategic activities.

We’re grateful for our 650+ customers that continue to purchase more of our solutions as their operations change and grow. In fiscal year 2020 (ending Sept. 30), we had a 36% revenue increase from existing clients from 2019. We also saw an 11% revenue increase from new clients as they realized the superior quality of our solutions.

Enhancing safety and compliance

Our managed services compliance company, InfoStream, had accomplishments to make carrier operations smoother. It expanded integrations into enterprise resource planning systems, including SAP, Oracle, and Workday. The new integrations streamline Department of Transportation-compliant applications, prefilling it with data and providing termination dates for DQ files. In addition, the company added several thousand added several thousand drivers under driver management.

Launching new products

Our plans remain robust for 2021, with many exciting developments underway for EBE and InfoStream. In early 2021, we plan to launch the latest version of EBE’s flagship solution, Shipping and Hauling Image Processing System, or SHIPS. The release of SHIPS 6 will replace the current SHIPS recruiting, onboarding, and safety solution. Also, in early 2021, we will unveil InfoStream’s new Risk Management Information System (RMIS). Both products will further enhance the extensive suite of offerings from both companies.

New Year Leading to New Milestones

As we progress into the new year, you will see an updated look for EBE in both our marketing and product offerings. As we enter our 48th year of business, you will see a refreshed logo, updated colors, and a more modern look to our marketing materials. In addition, the SHIPS 6.0 will be available for general release. We want to convey to you the energy and excitement that motivates our team to deliver the most innovative AI-powered workflow solutions for the transportation industry.

We look forward to working with you in the coming year. Please reach out to me with questions or feedback.
